Case study · Cherry Creek Schools security window film · Colorado
They tested everyone. Then they chose Epic.
Cherry Creek School District serves more than 53,000 students across 89 campuses in eight municipalities. Before it protected a single entry, it put the industry to the test.
Evidence, not brochures.
One of Colorado’s most accomplished districts — a 91% graduation rate and roughly 250 state athletic titles — wanted its glass to perform the way vendors said it would. So it ran a rigorous field evaluation of competing security films and installation methods rather than take any manufacturer’s word.
Solution3M S2400, attached the Epic Method.
Epic installed 3M™ Scotchshield™ S2400 — a 24-mil polyurethane security film with 560% elongation — and attached it to the frame with the Epic Method: interior gasket removed, glass seated on cork wedges, film applied, structural silicone sealant tooled into the open channel so film, glass and frame become one load-bearing unit.
ResultEvery campus. The largest school security window film project in U.S. history.
Epic’s installed system outperformed the alternatives in the district’s evaluation, and the district awarded Epic the full project — the largest school security window film project in the United States and one of the largest 3M S2400 projects anywhere: approximately 50,000 windows and more than 600,000 square feet of film across 89 campuses.
“This school district demanded evidence, and results showed our installation outperformed every alternative they tested.”
— Chris Eder, Chief Visionary Officer, Epic
“The district’s rigorous evaluation affirmed what our research has shown — S2400 provides strength, flexibility, and clarity.”
— Tony Adleta, 3M
“When lives are at stake, there is no room for compromise.”
— Kelly Eder, President & Owner, Epic
